Response to Edtorial #1-- Winston Churchill

I don't believe that Hitler can be trusted. The Anglo-German Treaty, a naval agreement which has allowed Germany the ability to reconstruct its navy, has undermined The League of Nations' ability to hold Germany accountable for its behavior in The Great War. Prime Minister Baldwin has been sweet talked by Chancellor Hitler. It is well known that Germany is notorious for breaking its treaties. This agreement also undermines the decision of Britain, France, and Italy, made at the Stresa conference to prevent the ability of Germany to take up arms. Germany's rearmament allowed them to reclaim the Rhineland, and I have no doubt that more countries will fall at Hitler's hand.  Although the choices he continues to make are in direct violation of the rules set in place after The Great War, I have to admit that I admire his courage, perseverance, and ability to challenge, defy, and overcome all of the people and regulations standing in his way. While it is too early to tell whether Hitler will restore honor and peace to Germany, I fear that these early actions in his reign are signs that he will lead all of us into another war. I pray that I am wrong.

Yours Honorably,

Winston Churchill
